Ms 7297 Ver 21 Manual

I have a MSI MS-7297 AM2 motherboard that I've had for quite some time. It has a AMD Athlon 64 x2 3800+ processor and i recently received a AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+ processor.

Here you can download ms 7297 ver 2.1 drivers for Windows. It's 100% safe, uploaded from safe source and passed Eset virus scan! Driver Info: File name: ms_7297_ver_2.1_drivers.zip. I looked up the spec's on that particular motherboard and the processor was listed under the support CPU devices. So i put it in there with fresh thermal paste and after a few minutes after boot up it hangs. I've disabled cool n' quite feature in the bios and tweaked some more settings. I've re-installed Windows 7 32 bit home premium and no difference. I changed power supply's, ram, video cards, and i still can't figure out why it was hanging. I tried the Processor in another motherboard that doesn't support 6000+ and it ran just fine on a Linux Mint Boot CD.

Virtio Could someone give me some answer's why i'm having issues with this? I know the processor is good and the motherboard is good.

Here are the links to my equipment that i have. Heating wasn't a issue from when i was monitoring it in the bios when i first installed the processor, i even upgraded the heat-sink and fan from OEM.

I changed the cool n' quite feature, i changed the HT frequency from 800 to 1M then to Auto(I do believe that's the overclocking feature). I disabled Spread Spectrum, and that was it, when nothing worked i reset the bios to default. Looking at the bios the Motherboard is from a HP Compaq dx2250 Microtower SKU number RT877UT#ABA System Serial # MXL804053L and the Asset Tracking Number MXL804053L the Bios is Ver 1.08. Bob: its V 2.1 for the motherboard. Bill Kindle/devidasjadhav/Linksep UPDATE: So i updated the bios(thank you Linksep for the link) and i put the 6000+ processor in, it hung at the login screen. So i hard rebooted and went into the bios and disabled cool n' quite feature and changed the HT frequency from auto to 800.

Booted up and ran CCleaner, ran Window's update and so far it is not hanging. I will keep you guys post here in a few days to see what it will do. But thank you for your input on this issue! Errtus i was thinking on trying the 64bit version, is there a difference from the 32 bit to the 64 bit? It's been a long time since I played with overclocking but from my (brief) reading, your HT frequency should be 630 or 667 and you should make sure you have 667 Mhz or better RAM in it. Try those baseline settings and see if your stability improves.
